About me

There are many special people; some save lives, others give of themselves to others, others sacrifice everything for others to live a peaceful and blissful life. We can’t forget about those who work the worst jobs, just so that others don’t have to worry about them.

Among all these special jobs one must always remember the Seers, those with the uncanny ability to close their eyes and see entire worlds and universes, heroes battling monsters and villains and saving their world! These Seers allow you escape your mundane and monotone lives and journey to who knows where. But hey, it’s always about the journey, never the destination.

I want to talk to you about one such Seer, Simonca Robert. After all, he sees the journey of our Forgotten Hero, Pop Ronald. Who is the man behind the words, behind the vision?

Just like many, he is a simple man, in a simple world. A world devoid of the magical, the fantastical, a monochrome world, he would say. Like many younglings he would often take refuge in what he found more interesting worlds, anything for him to escape, to dream bigger. Now, I might be painting him as a bit of a tall, dark and gloom kind a guy, but I assure you, he is not tall in the slightest!

Robert’s journey began like so many others’ did: being a small child, in bed, with his parents telling him stories. Sometimes they were good, sometimes they were bad, but they were always fascinating for him. As he grew older, he started searching for stories himself; he learned to choose a good one from a bad one. Well, the truth is he never believed a story was bad, only the words, or the means by which it is spoken through can sometimes not align perfectly with the story itself. Ah, but I am getting off-track.

This young man’s world became extremely proficient in the use of the digital medium to their stories: what they call moving pictures, video games and later the much sought after virtual reality, which still needs some work by-the-by… Robert became enamored with them. Imagine: hearing a story about some distant world filled with magic AND seeing it at the same time!

Through some ups and downs he even began studying them, the movies, at least. Sadly, he never completed his studies, a combination of disillusionment and laziness, but he never forgot what he learned. Of course, during this time he kept up with the video games, the books and everything in between. He consumed everything with the hunger of a man who had fasted for centuries.

Unbeknownst to anybody but himself, Robert had a power, the same power that allowed others to “come up” with so many stories; he had the Vision. But he was too afraid of judgement to commit these sights to paper.

At some point, by sheer coincidence, he found a certain story. To be honest it was the type of story he read a thousand times before, but it struck a nerve in him. He started thinking what HE would have chosen for the story, the characters, the actions, the consequences… He became emboldened!

That story gave Robert the courage to share his stories with others in his world! Hah. Nope. Nononono, he couldn’t do that, he was a twelve year old young boy at the time, this was way before he started learning how to make a story. Granted he had passion and years of Vision to write down but he had neither the know-how nor the monetary means to share it physically with others, something that had been his dream.

Let’s fast forward a bit. Through some strange twists and turns, Robert, now a young man, had found a job. He became… drum rolls please… an air traffic controller! Yes. Exactly what a man with dreams of writing stories would become…

The story of his job acquisition is long and, frankly, bizarre, so I won’t go into the details Suffice is to say he now had the know-how and the means to do what he always wanted. So, he did. And still does. And will probably do well into the future, regardless of what kind of success these stories have. After all, Robert is nothing if not self-centered. Usually, that would be bad, yes, but in this case I think it might be a good thing. He writes his stories, his Visions not for other people to enjoy or learn something, but to keep himself entertained and always guessing what would happen next. In that last regard at least, he is succeeding, I can assure you.

This is but a small summary of the Seer, the writer, in your world, Simonca Robert. Maybe you were never interested in him to begin with, and he is totally fine with that, after all he is a common man, in a common world, Pop Ronald’s story is what is truly important here. But still… I can’t help but wonder:

After Ron’s story is over, what Vision will Simonca Robert see behind his closed eyelids next?
